Price Based on Quality

Factors Affecting Lapis Lazuli Stone Price

The price of Lapis Lazuli is determined by five key factors: color, clarity, cut, carat, and origin.

Color

The most important factor is the color. Stones with deep, intense blue hues and few flecks of gold (Pyrite) or white (Calcite) are highly desirable. Uniform and rich blue color increases the value significantly.

Clarity

Stones with minimal inclusions and well-distributed flecks are of higher value. Avoid stones with too concentrated Pyrite or Calcite content.

Cut

Lapis Lazuli is usually cut into cabochons, beads, tablets, or inlays. Select the cut that matches your preference and jewelry requirements.

Carat

Larger stones with good cut, color, and clarity command higher prices. Ensure a balance between carat and quality for the best investment.

Origin

Afghanistan produces the finest quality Lapis Lazuli. Other notable origins include Russia, Chile, and Myanmar (Burma), though the Afghan stones are generally more valued for their intense color and purity.

Lapis Lazuli Stone Authenticity & Certification

Natural Lapis Lazuli is a highly auspicious gemstone in Vedic astrology. Unfortunately, this popularity has led some sellers to offer fake, imitation, or inferior quality stones while marketing them as premium products. If you plan to buy Lapis Lazuli online, it is important to be cautious of such fraudsters and scams.
